I have just recently signed up for Sky. I have heard that you can view Sky and other channels on your computer. What is the best way of going about this? Do you have to pay etc

Sky only broadcast encrypted digital satellite and you will need a viewing card to watch their content. At the moment there aren't any PC video cards with a card slot fitted, so you can't watch Sky but you can watch free to air channels.
Yes you can watch Sky content on your PC, what you are referring to is Sky by Broadband http://anytime.sky.com/about/pc.aspx

It is not a live broadcast though, just downloadable content like movies, sports highlights and episodes of premium tv series.
