a) Data DVD playable in some DVD players (DivX enabled) and all computers - no software required. Right click > send to DVD > write files to disc

b) DVD playable in all DVD players - Windows Vista has a movie maker which does this but it can take ages to encode. Some people use Nero software or convert AVI to DVD with WinAVI.
