We have a belkin 54g wireless router and when we set it up we didnt put in a password (mainly because I didnt have my lappy at the time but knew I was getting it and we didnt want to forget the password and end up with me not being able to get online)

We now have a lappy, another pc and xbox 360 all using the router and last week I realised we still didnt put a password in.

Is it possible to go and do it now even though its all set up? If so what happens to the other pcs/xbox when they try to go online? will we get a bob up message asking for the password or is it more complicated than that?

I am really worried that if we set up a password then the other stuff we use may get locked out.

Thanks

It is important you set up your security so do it now.

Access your router admin page by typing:

192.168.1.1

in the address bar.

If possible connect everything to the router by ethernet cable whilst you do the settings, then you will not be blocking your own access. Once it is set up, you can unplug the machines.

If you do have problems you can easily undo anything you have done by holding the reset button in for at least 10 seconds, or clicking 'restore to default' in the admin pages.
No password ... I suppose you didn't set up anything else either
