My laptop computer (Advent 7601M) is apparently unusable because the mains power input socket has been damaged. I am told that a repair is uneconomic. Yet the rest of the computer is perfectly sound, and I do not understand why I should throw it all away. Can the Li-ion battery pack be charged outside of the laptop? Which of the 6 contacts would be the ones to connect to a charger?
