plasma tv problem

any tv repair people out there ? my plasma has 2 black lines down the middle..is this an expensive problem to fixed ?

Hi sue,
Are the black lines from top to bottom of the screen and approx how wide are they, are they there all the time on different sources or just on the tv tuner (off air pictures, dvd, video)
What size is the screen (measured diagonally corner to corner )
how old is the screen and how often do you use it ( weekly 2-3 hours, daily 2-3 hours or more than that )

the lines are from top to bottom and aprrox 1-2inches wide each.the screen is 42 in but im not sure how old it is as i was given it by a friend of a friend who is emigrating.but it looks in good condition and i know the owners were full time workers so i expect it was only used for evening watching. any ideas or a estimate on repair price would be great ?

Ok, that's very wide, I thought you were going to say 1 or 2 pixels wide (very thin). Sometimes plasmas can have dead pixels in the matrix which can show up as lines as you describe but not inches wide.
Do they appear on other sources such as your DVD or video / PVR ?

i dont know i havnt set them up yet..because if the tv is going to cost a fortune to repair i wont bother and just keep everything connected to my existing tele.
