You could do worse than spybot search and destroy available here: http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10194058.html?ta

Ad-aware and Spybot S&D are both excellent, free and updatable, but IMHO a superior solution (sadly not free) is Pest Patrol - its the poodles testes of spyware detection/removal programs. You can run a free scan from their website to check for nasties and download/purchase the software here - http://www.pestpatrol.com/
- good luck!
Hi mucko, my sweetie. I had the same problems too. A friend advised me to download a good virus checker, and I found I was riddled with Trojans. Then I used Adaware *and* Spybot and by the end of the afternoon my PC was clean again! No more annoying pop-ups, and my PC seemed to work twice as quickly!
