finding mobile numbers

does anyone know how i might be able to find out who a number belongs to on my mobile bill, ive tried calling it but it says the person isnt able to take your call now. i know for a fact i havent dialled the number but i am being charged for it, its in guernsey. it also have one number extra to the usual numbers. many thanks

i have read about this before but at the time there was no answer. see if your service provider can shed any light on it.

my service provider, 3, said it has been dialled from my phone so ive got to pay, i tried googling it but nothing, thanks anyway

Have you been subscribing to anything like ringtones or games? I wonder if it's one of these subscription numbers texting you back?

An ex of mine signed me up for "hunk of the day" messages. Each one cost 50p and it was a nitemare to get rid of them.

In my experience my phone bill was always right as they are automated.

on average about 6 a month and of course 3,(need i say more) say its been done from my phone and someone must have used it

My partner and I had the same problem a few months ago, along with some people we chatted with in chatrooms. 3 know about the problem, but refuse to acknowledge there is a problem. We found out that with much persuasion and persistance, they agreed to credit our next bills with the erroneous charges as a "goodwill gesture". We had no further problems after that. not the same, but the strange thing is that the number i have has an extra number in it!

Some numbers from people I've chatted to have an extra digit. You'll probably also find that the digits at the beginning are the same as mine, because all Guernsey numbers have the same prefix.
