External Hard Drive

I need an external hard drive to store about 100G but I don't even know where to start looking or how much to pay. I have a Sony Viao PC and am running Windows XP if that is even relevant! I have been told that Sata hard drives are good?!?!?! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi,
Just received "iomega" external hard drive" it is 250 gb.
It was a present but I know it was �25.
I don`t know how I managed without it, so easy to use.
I had just had the experience we all dread, lost all my photos and files, had to have the PC rebuilt.
It is a good bit of kit.

Wish I could be certain but I can`t because it was a present.
Try ebuyer (not ebay) you have to register but it`s worth it.
The other possibility is scan, you will have to try both with co.uk or com. as I am not sure which it is.
The prices are coming down everyday and the storage capacity going up.
The friend who bought it me works in IT so it`s possible he bought it through his firm.
Sorry can`t be more help at the moment but can recommend the build quality of the drive, looks good as well.

ebuyer is a great site.

1977: just get any hard drive that has a USB2 connection, which in practice means any.

Good brands are: Maxtor, LaCie, Western Digital, Seagate... and others.

�25.00 seems to cheap,

maplins are normally quite good they have a 320GB from �59.99

Just to put your mind at rest,my external hard drive did come through my friends company, that`s why it was �25.00.
Looks like you will have to pay double that.
