when i turn my pc on it windows xp say 'cannot locate local profile'. How do i prevent it from losing 'Local profile'

I used to have exactly the same problem with Windows NT at work. Windows is trying to download your user settings (desktop, documents folders, etc) from a network server. If your PC isn't connected to a Local Area Network then that's where the problem lies. Not sure how you'd get around this without doing a format and reinstall of XP.
