PC msn

I have a PC as well as a mac and on the PC the msn worked for a while until about a week ago it just stopped. When i went on it it starts signing in then immediately brings up a box saying go to troubleshooter or something. when i do that it just loads. but never loads. if you get me. i have re-downloaded it but it just does the same. can someone tell me what to do? thanks xx

If you have a firewall it may be blocking you from using Messenger and it may have to be reconfigured to allow chat to work. It could be more complicated though, I have seen a similar problem where Norton Antivirus become corrupted and as a side effect Messenger just stopped working. Fixing Norton solved the problem.
