converting avi movie to windows movie file

is there any free downloadable programmes that will convert avi files to windows movie file so i can burn it onto a disc? thanks :D

yes there is but as im not at home until next week i can't actually remember which one it is that use however, you could try this one out it looks simple enough to use:
