Every morning I have to reboot my computer once to update the Update Manager component of the AVG virus checker. Is there something about the timing of the system update after I power up for the first time that changes the Update Manager later, requiring the system to be rebooted to reactivate AVG. What needs to be done so that I only need to boot up once?
You have me confused... AVG updates do not require the pc to be rebooted at all, let alone twice.
There's a box in the scheduler (lhs of AVG screen) that allows you change the time for updates and scans. Also, there's a tick-box that allows it update once the pc'c turned on after being powered off. Never had to reboot though...
Every morning I was getting a message that AVG is out of date, your system needs to be rebooted to activate (or somesuch wording). The AVG icon in the icon rary at the bottom is greyed out.
I have checked the 'schedule tasks' and there was something called update plan in basic mode scheduled daily between 8am and 9.59am. I have changed this to 6am to 7.59am.
Additionally the test plan is set for 8am. I noticed this was running sometimes but had not idea what was controlling it.
