Not sure this is in the right section but hoping someone can help me! My itunes went mad yesterday, and I had to delete everything and then re-add the library so to speak. Problem is I seem to have lost all of my play counts and ratings. This has happened to me before. It's no big deal, but I have roughly 4,000 tracks on there, all rated and the play count matters for playlist reasons. I've also lost all my playlist details.

Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve all/any of this data, - or by erasing the music from the window and then re-adding the folder, have I permanently lost this?

Unfortunately I'm a bit fick (sic) with laptops etc. and have looked on the itunes site, but can't find anything there that might help.

Thanks anyone for advice on this!

All that data is stored in the iTunes library file on your computer. If you've erased your iTunes music folder from your drive, then it will have gone too.

(Did you have a backup?)

How did you delete everything then re-add it?
