Key board sensitivity

I find that when typing some letters on my new lap top it will miss the letter out, I then have to return and hit the key again to insert the letter.

Is there some way to make the keys more sensitive to the touch?

If you 'go into' control panel , clic 'keyboards' there is a feature called 'speed'........slowing down the 'hit rate' may solve the problem
