I've came across a very nostalgic game I played years ago and fell all over in love with it! The only problem is, it's dos based and windows XP is having problem loading the game properly. Is there anything I could do to change it from dos based to windows based game?

could you not open your pc in DOS mode and play it that way?

Yes I could, the thing is, for some reasons I couldn't detect mouse drivers in DOS mode. And I also know there's a way to go about it. But I just prefer to do it using windows XP. It's less troublesome and also I get to listen to favorite MP3s while playing.. :p
What game is it? I had a similar problem with the wonderful "Little Big Adventure", but some nice people have created a windows version that you can dl. Depending on the game, someone may have done something similar for your game.
XP has a compatibility feature, for files from Win95 onwards. It may be worth trying that. Right click on the actual .exe file & choose properties, then compatibility. Self-explanatory from there. Other than that, you'll probably need to create a shortcut to the DOS window & then put the mouse driver details in the shortcut's options
