xxx dialler

can someone tell me please how to get rid of an xxx dialler i have looked in ad remove it is not there i have downloaded spybot that wont remove it either if i cant remove it i am putting a hammer through my pc.

Have you tried to remove them through add / remove programs ?

Sorry didnt read you right , youve tried that. Try putting them into the search and see if it brings up the file that they are in .If it does try deleting them.

have you tried going to (in Interent Explorer) Tools>Internet Options>Connections(tab) then looking for it and clicking "Remove"?

i really do believe that these people who put these xxx diallers out there are far more clever than us and i also think that no one out ther actually knows how to get rid of them.

What OS are you running? dialers are usually detected by antivirus software - are you up to date? try this start menu>run enter msconfig and press return then on the program that starts up click the startup tab. check through everything that is on this list and make sure you know what it is for. Anything you cant account for is probably the program that is installing the dialer. there is a tool called HijackThis that you can download from here http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/index.html (the site appears to be down at the moment) this will generate a text file listing everything that is running on your machine you can then post this on their forum and other users will analyse it for you and tell you what you need to remove - its kind of like a techie answerbank for spyware/dialer problems. Let us know how you get on.

This will work guarenteed! Download a decent firewall like ZoneAlarm. Then download a program called Ad-Aware, update it to make sure it will scan EVERYTHING. Leave it scanning all your drives when its done you'll probably have more spyware than you think. I had like 77 lol. Then download Mozilla Firefox, this is just a better browser than Internet Explorer, I promise its much better... Stops popups, and will stop you from getting spyware/ads through the internet. I had exactly the same problem as you. This will work, good luck :]

thank you tha-flash i have downloaded a firewall called tiny personal firewall it seems to be working i am now downloading one called firefox as you said. i will let you know how i get on . thanks a million for your help. i have put my hammer back in the shed lolol. regards boviner.

try this click start run msconfig then uncheck the xxx dialer. reboot. if that fails to remove it try this click start ->programs ->startup delete any dodgy shortcuts then click start run msconfig then uncheck the xxx dialer. reboot. that should solve it
