Help! My computer is so slow and cannot load web pages

I have this problem all the time - then it seems ok for a while then it returns. I use Windows XP and Mozilla Firefox - I just cannot seem to load web pages, especially Facebook and even this web site took ages. All my temporary internet files are deleted, I regularly check the registry. My CPU rate is not high. I just don't know what else to do. Any suggestions please???

A virus?

Have you run a virus scan just to check you haven't got anything running that shouldn't be?

Have you checked the broadband speed? Maybe your ISP are giving you a dodgy deal... Or check your broadband is WPA protected and that no one else is sneakily using it and downloading huge files!
