is there any way i can retreive digital photos frommy laptop back to my memory card.I have just bought a universal card reader but not sure if this is what i need....

gravitate - will that work with a card reader? Doesn't it need to be a card writer?

You didn't say the type of your memory card.

If it was SD card, it has write-protected function tab on the top left part of the card. If the tap on. When the tab is down, it is write protected and read only. When the tab is up postion, it is write enabled.
