Hello,
I have been given a Router from Talk Talk to connect my Internet however, there does not seem to be an Ethernet Socket at the back of my PC. The Ethernet cable is red and connects from the back of the Router to the back of my PC.

What do I need in order to be able to connect this cable at the back of my PC?

Thank you in anticipation.

Hi,
You will need an ethernet card like these to plug in to one of your pci slots.

An ethernet port should look like this:

In the picture it is the socket on the right, and may have a small diagram near it like the one in the picture.

It MAY be next to the phone socket, as in the picture.

If your PC is newer than about 2 years old then I would think it should probably have one. If it is older than 2 years then it probably wont have one.

Fitting a new network card is fairly easy.

if you have a pc world or maplins close by ... nip down there
an ethernet card shouldn't cost more than 5.00
so mail order - the postage will cost as much as the card
