Right DVD type for drive

I have a Fujitsu Siemens PC Scaleo P with Xp. How can I find out which type of DVD can be used DVD+R or DVD-R

Hi Ebeneezer,
For computer use (data discs and dvd films watched only on a computer) any DVD-R or +R will work. However if you want to create DVD films to be watched on standalone players, then you will need to be careful which type of disc you use, it all depends on the playback machine.
Most modern (last 3 years or so) machines will cope with either type of disc, but older machines may only handle -R or +R not both types. Check first before buying any DVDs for this purpose.
