Netibiza, the link doesn't change colour until you have posted it.
Question Author
but when I post it to myself it still doesn't do anything!
Are you making sure you put the http part of the website in your link like http://www.website.com and not just www.website.com?
Does it work when you post it somewhere else? For example this site
Question Author
Well it's a photo from My Images, and cannot do it either from tinypic or imageshack -. all the gubbins appears but just won't link, and it's only with photos.
Question Author
have just tried on here and it worked fine, couldn't leave it as it was a photo of someone, so why not work on email.

OK here it is, but won't open in email I've just sent it to myself
Interesting picture, but I can't help you with the email thing. Does it work if you email it to someone else?
Question Author
Well I've emailed to family members and they can't get it either.

BTW, that was taken in Helsinki!
All I can suggest then is to send it as an attachment.
Gosh, it's a very large picture. Over 1.5 Mb.
Maybe it's too big.

Here's a smaller version

Try it with that.
Question Author
How can I make it smaller and how do I send it as an attachment?? Actually I sent an tinypic email to me and then forwarded it on, as you say, it's very big but it worked, but I still want to be able to hyperlink. Is it because it's too big? Please kind people, talk me through it? neti x
have you got an 'add attachment' link somewhere on your email form? click on that and it will say something like 'browse'. Find the picture in my pictures or wherever you have it and click on OK ... But size shouldn't be a problem: if you can post it on imageshack you're just posting a link, not the whole picture. I don't know why it shouldn't work, it does with Hotmail and Gmail.
If you are just putting a hyperlink into an email then it should not matter how big the object you are linking to is.

Can you get other hyperlinks to work in emails?
PS even if it doesn't fuction as a hyperlink your recipients should be able to cut and paste the address into their own address line, then go straight to it
Compose your email as usual. Click on 'insert', then click on 'file attachment'. "My Pictures' will appear; click on the picture you want, and then click on 'attach'. That should do it....Almost forgot to say that first of all you have to save the picture to 'My Pictures'.
If you are using Outlook Express to send emails then you may need to make sure the format is set to Rich Tex (html) and not Plain Text.

From Outlook Express help:

Click the place in the message where you want the hyperlink or Web page text to appear.
To add a hyperlink, on the Insert menu, click Hyperlink. Select the file type, and then type the location or address of the link.
To add an HTML page, on the Insert menu, click Text from File. In the Files of type box, select HTML Files, and then find the file you want to add.

Notes

If you cannot select the Hyperlink menu command, make sure HTML formatting is turned on by clicking the Format menu in the message window and then clicking Rich Text (HTML). A black dot appears by the command when it is selected.
