green tv picture
4 Answers
Posted on here a few days ago after turning tv on & noticing that it had a horrid green tint to it. Had moved stereo & speakers close to tv & was told it may have been that. Moved them away & after a couple of days it slowly cleared (almost). This morning there was only a very slight tinge in one corner. However, turned it back on now & it is how it was originally, green, virtually all over!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!! So maybe not due to the speakers? Any other advice much appreciated, thanks.

I was just hoping that it was sorting itself outself as it did improve considerably. But now it is mainly green, you can still see the picture but everything has a green, or sometimes pink/purple tint (depending on the actual colour on the screen).

Thanks everyone who responded. Engineer has just been, needed a new degaussing 'bit'. Showed me the part that had gone, was turning black from overheating. TV is back to normal now, people don't look like 'the hulk' anymore! Cost 60, parts & labour, but on a tv that is only 17 months old its got to be cheaper than getting a new one!
