i have bought 2 old laptops for my son which wirelsess router best to by for windows 98 plz help thanks

If they don't (which they probably don't) then you need to buy a usb wireless network dongle (about �30).
As for makes of wireless routers, go for something like Netgear or DLink. I have used both these makes and have never had any issues. Just make sure that you protect your wireless network with an encryption key using WPA (Make sure the router you buy and any USB dongles support WPA encryption).

I think you'l find they wont work, Windows 98 doesnt have the ability to connect to a wireless network, with whatever thing you stick in. The wireless connect software only came in operation in XP. We were told exactly the same thing in PC World when my dad wanted to make his ME laptop wireless, it wont work, unless you install XP, and the software is rare now, and chances are the laptop wont have enough resources to handle it. Get your facts straight Kerplunk!
