ICQ (I seek you) is a computer programme that allows you to use Internet messaging that informs you when your friends/clients/business associates etc. are online. It also offers email, URL and file transfer facilities ' operating its own servers. When you install ICQ, the program asks you to register at a server, which is connected to a broad network of servers spanning the Internet. As soon as you log onto the Internet, ICQ automatically detects the Internet connection, announces your presence to the Internet community and alerts you when friends sign on or off.
I presume you PC is connected to an ICQ server and another Internet server and it is causing some conflict on your PC ' asking you to switch servers.
