Digital images problem
3 Answers
Like most people when I take Digital photos I copy them to CD as back up!! However when I formatted my pc recently I copied my images back on from CD to find that half of the folders, the images within won't preview. I,ve tried opening them in Photoshop but it comes up with the message " Could not complete your request becuase a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete)."

I have used many of the cheap "cake" type CDRs for backup media at work, but they only have to be kept for a cycle of a month. For my photography I invest in the expensive ones with a brand name remeniscent of the Queen's husband. So far discs go back six years without degradation, but I must say, I'm not totally convinced of the long term validity of the media.

I've used Isobuster from http://www.smart-projects.net/ and it's recovered alot of "lost" files from CDR's for me. It's shareware now (was free when I got it!), but they say many of the functions still work without a key.
