I have recently bought an i pod and I am trying to download some of my CD's into i tunes and on to my i pod. However the CD's are just downloading track1, track 2 etc. How do I get the Artist's name and track titles etc. I was told that I must be connected to the internet but my computer is always connected so this is not the problem. Please help.

Are they proper, bought cds or copies?
Ensure that you check the box "Automatically retrieve CD track names from the internet" in Edit / Preferences / Advanced / Importing

Thanks BenDToy I have done the checks that you suggested and the box is definately ticked. Have tried CD again this morning but still no track names!
How do you connect to the internet? Are you able to just open IE or some other browser and start browsing immediately?

Try browsing a few sites and then rip a CD with iTunes (with the browser still open).

Finally, check your firewall -- is it set to block iTunes?

Thanks all, I am now sorted. I apparently highlight the tracks and go to advanced and click "get track names"
This works a treat.
