Touch pad problem

I have a new Vostro laptop. am new to computers. cant seem to keep the curser under control!!! wont go where i want it to! I have change the touchpad settings ....but dont know if i need light or heavy or fast or slow!.... Help! Thanks.

Just try out the settings and see which you prefer. You can always change them back.

You won't harm the computer.

If you really find the touchpad frustrating, you can always buy a mouse.

I think it is worth sticking with the touchpad for everyday use, although I do use a mouse for one particular program.

As fo3 says, fiddle with the settings to see which suits you best.

If you follow Ethel's advice - and i would - you can then set the computer to switch off the touchpad when the mouse is plugged in - really handy.

you can change the sensitivity of the touch pad,well you can on mine anyway!
