5 Answers
but this particular tv does not have a roof aerial, it has a portable one instead.
How would i go about getting freeview for this?
Would i need to get it attached to the roof aerial?
And what does the box plug into in the tv?
Sorry if i havn't explained this very well, but any help would be great.

Pick out a quality TV sales shop, go in and explain what you are trying to do...............then, they can help you put together a setup that will work in your area.
It is not something you should try to DIY, as there are some major pitfalls, and you could end-up-with-a-lot-of-expense-and-no-freeview
But..........make sure you pick a good shop; if they don't seem interested, keep on going until you find a shop this is.
You are paying them to help you.....so insist they carry their end.

Got to say that both my kids have freeview boxes in their bedrooms running off amplified indoor aerials such as you buy at Argos and they have no reception problems at all. Also, the freeview box plugs into the aerial socket in the back of your tv and the aerial plugs into the box - thats always assuming that you haven't got a scart socket in your TV, if you have connect the freeview box to the TV via a scart cable and the aerial still goes into the back of the Freeview box.
