How it Works0 min ago
Help with PC please, three irritating problems!

How do I get my files to stay in number order when I open a folder? They are always mixed up and I have to "sort by filename" everytime I open a folder full of photos.
Is there a way to disable the start up box when you turn the PC on, I am forever turning it on and coming back 5 minutes later expecting to find it all up and running and connected to the web only to see I have to press OK to get it going.
Lastly - I sometimes have trouble closing a webpage, I press the X at top right and just get a "dunk" sound. I have to go control-alt-delete to end the programme which works eventually but it still makes the "dunk" sound.

Second prob - not exactly sure what you mean here. Can you give more details? Have you checked that whatever it is that you are having to restart isn't set to time out after a certain time?
Third prob - are you using Internet Explorer? You could try downloading Mozilla Firefox. Many ABers use it, it seems to be more reliable. What I think may be happening is that a one or more processes are running in background. Next time it happens right hand click on the bottom tool bar and click on Task Manager. If you then click on the Processes tab and sort by clicking on Mem Usage it will give you an idea of which program is using up alot of processing capacity. If its Internet Explorer, switch to Firefox and see how you get on.

I'm guessing that prob 2 is the log on screen?
if more than one user .... or user with password .... you'll get the screen .... that's the way it is
if your browser is freezing .... give it a moment to see what will happen (even if you get the not responding message)
sometimes when my internet is running slow, the virus checker, adware scanner and I'm encoding a video .... mine does the same .... a second or two later .... and everything catches up
it will freezeis
a question what's "dunk" sound .... I have "ding"
