I'm using Excel 2002 and have two columns of figures. I want a third column to show the ratio between the two columns. There isn't a ratio function and there is also no option to format the cell type to show a ratio. Can any help? Is there a formula I can use?

Thanks

It should be something like:

1:Column B / Column A

So if column A was 2 and B was 8 you would get:

1:4 ie(8/2)
I might be thinking too simply here - I'm not really great at maths but I think this might work for you;

If you select the cell and go to Format cells, click on the Number tab and go to custom, in the box named general type ##/## and click OK.

Then in your cell type =A1/B1 (or the cells you require a ratio for) and enter.

This, hopefully, will give you your ratio.
