Hi,

I have a Microsoft Access form with two fields in. The two fields are Number and Name.

How can I make it so that the 'Number' field automatially generates a sequential number when a new record is added?

I'm new to Microsoft Access so a step by step guide ld be most appreciated (seriously idiots guide needed here)

Many Thanks
Chris

As long as the data type field is set to (auto number) not just number it will be fine.
Have you made the actual database to which the form will enter data? From what I can recall, when you create the database and try to save it, it will ask you to assign a primary key, which it will create for you. I'm guessing you would want to name this "Number".
Actually, listen to Quoi. I seem to remember that making the entry form and the database separately makes it much more complicated.
