Why doesn't it keep time?

This is usually due to the CMOS battery, the battery that provides power to the bios chip when your PC is switched off. When it needs replacing, the clock is the first thing that starts going wrong. An easy test is to set the time, switch off for about 5-10 minutes and switch back on, if the time is wrong, then replace the battery. It looks like a large watch battery and is available from watch repairers etc.Take your old one as they are not all the same.

Thanks - where do I find the battery?
It is on the motherboard and is about the size of a 10p piece.
