I have 3 Binatone Digital Cordless Phones & my question is this, now that the re-chargeable AA Batteries which are mAH Nicad are getting a little old, can I replace them with re-chargeable AA NiMH Batteries?

yeah you can, they just need charged differently if you use a manual battery charger, but i suppose you will just let them re-charge in the phones.
It depends on the model of phone.

If the cradles are NICAD specific chargers then it is certainly not advisable to swich the batteries for NiMH.

The instruction booklet should indicate the types of batteries compatible to the chargers.
The charge rate on the phone cradle is generally fairly low,our Philips models came with NiCad, but have been running with NiMH for the last 2 years

If I remember right the binatone range uses a "custom" batt assembly .....
I imagine that if they make a NiMh for it .... it will be OK

in any case
Good news .... bad news
Bad first
NimH can and often do explode if charged incorrectly

now the good ...
If it does explode ... it's likely that it will do it while charging .... so your whiskers will survive

I've used this mob quite a bit ... if you're unsure ... they have a good helpline.
(and if you order ... they'll include a choccy in the box ;-)
