CAN I USE A DIGIBOX ON A PORTABLE 14 INCH TV USING THE TV 'S OWN ARIEL.

Most likely not...you need a pretty good signal quality to be able to use a digibox (40 db I believe if you need the tech spec) and an indoor aeriel is highly unlikely to pull in a good enough reception for that to work unless you are in close proximity to a transmitter or relay.
I put a normal house ariel in my loft and I get a perfect picture all the time. No Rod Hull style accidents for me!!
You may get a few stations depending on signal strength where you are. I found using my original tv antenna in the loft I couldn't get all the stations until I bought a wideband uhf antenna. Regarding connections, a lot of digital boxes will only work via scart leads, but some will work using co-ax (rf loop through) and tuning th tv to uhf channel 22.
