Can anyone tell me how I can retreive emails I deleted over a year ago?

It doesnt look good, you could try and do a system restore on your pc...but again not sure how far back in time it will go, if you click on 'start' 'programs' 'accessories' 'system tools' and this should get you into doing a system restore.

If it was in Outlook Express or similar, there's a chance it may still be in your deleted emails folder as that won't empty until you do it..

If it was a web-based email, Hotmail/Yahoo then there is no way to retrieve them.

system restore only holds system files ... (the clue is in the title ;0)
and it depends how big the cache is set as to how many (generally a couple ow weeks at most)

only way is cake's suggestion ... if you are lucky you won't have emptied the trash.

failing that ... it's down to your local time machine dealer .....

most detetable files are retained either by size or date
your wastebin has a size limit so when it gets to that size ... it deletes some of the oldest files.

Internet explorer works on dates ... it holds (by default) 30 days (up to a certain size limit)

so ... over a year ... not much chance
