From what i have read and my understanding of it, Internet 2 doesn't refer to the actual internet. It's more to do with a second faze of how we use the net.
Internet 1 = Every user sat at home beside a P.C.
Internet 2 = Mobile use on phones, laptops PDA's etc
The needs and requirements of a mobile user is different to that of a static home user.
a strang american guy was on radio 5 last night talking about it but i was dozing off. they are the usa government and other "superpowers" (england / japan etc)
It's not internet2, but Web2, and it really just refers to the way that programs on the web work, and the way that we interact with them. There are already plenty of sites out there which refer to themselves as Web2.
