no channels

i have a euro-vox max v series digital reciever and live in south london. i seemed to have lost all my channels except the terrestial channels. is there anyway i can get all the channels back. i have tried rescanning many times but it keeps saying please wait channel updating. it has been saying this for about two days. is there some sort of code i can put in. thanks
