addresses from phone numbers

How do yo trace addresses from phone numbers and if it's not possible does anyone know why it's illegal?

If its a company phone number just put it in google and it should bring up the address of the company. For private numbers I have no idea if that works but can't see it being illegal if it does.

i've searched for something similar before, they allow it in america (i think its called the white pages / reverse directory).

If you know the surname and the area, I guess you could sift through the phone nubmers and match it up to get the address...!

Reverse phone searches are simply not legal in the UK for data protection reasons, so you are not going to be able to do it.
