NOT baby wipes - they are imprinted with oils and all sorts.

I use a cotton cloth lightly dampened with water.

very lightly damped lint free cloth. with a similar dry cloth to remove any streaks after.

Thanks for your suggestions will use them
a Jetwash works wonders
mind you probably wont work afterwards, but would be spotless.
kujawski, how do you recommend opening a can of beans? dynamite?
a slightly damp micro fibre cloth then a dry one
dynamite is good, but semtex is better
or could always buy them cans with the ring pulls on top.
A weak solution of white vinegar works for me.
I also like to lick the screen afterwards...
Thanks for the advice, Ethel. Could have done with that about 8 months ago when I bought this laptop. Have used babywipes on it in all that time, and it is still fine, but you heard the lady hold the wipes.
only thing I'd add are two simple rules
1 ... keep your BL**dy fingers off the screen ;-( on the other site of your finger is a hard thing called a nail .... they scratch!
2 ... for stubborn stains use 1 drop of stardrops or some other natural soap product suitable for pure new wool

that is 1 drippy drop ... (not a quick pour) to 1 pint (0.45Ltr) of water - then follow the excellent guidance already here (I'm a micro fibre convert!)

(except the Semtex!) Semtex is fine for sardines ... but no good with soup

roj
do you use a chip for cleaning those important little places??

Buy a Spectacle Lens cleaner in the opticians
or Spec Savers, you can get a small spray and
cleaning cloth, use sparingly does a good job
