fax with windows xp home

I had aked what I need to fax using windows xp home. the only problem I have a cable modem instead of land line service. is there a way I can fax , I do have a scanner and printer.

I have done this myself. I am on ADSL but have a 56k modem in the pc and lines connected (dial-up is only used as a back up if adsl goes down). When I sent a fax it opened up the dial-up connection and sent it via the phone line. Don't forget to disconnect the dial-up connection once the fax is sent.
