Another day, another problem...Outlook won't work

Todays problem - Microsoft Office Outlook won't work.

It says "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. Errors have been detected in the file C:\users\owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

Does anyone have any idea how to solv this please.

oh dear!

you may be able to repair it, on the start menu select search and search for files and folders then in the search box type in scanpst.exe

When it had found the file double click to run it browse to the outlook.pst file at the path in your question and let it run and try and fix the file for you

Good luck, you should really be backing your PST file up on a regular basis just in case this sort of thing happens.

Generally you can recover the older stuff ... the newer .... well you might be lucky ... I think partly size matters ... the bigger it is ... the more you tend to loose - but it depends why

I've discovered there is another e-mail program on my computer called "Windows Mail".

I ran this program, added all my e-mail accounts under Tools > accounts and, Hey Presto!, I've got Mail.

I've lost all my old e-mails and contacts but at least its saved me the cost of getting a techie out.
