I had lots of recordings on my Toppy. The other day I settled down to do a bit of catch up, to find that everything I had ever recorded had disappeared. Totally wiped clean. I was gutted. Anyone any idea why this might have happened, and can I take any steps to prevent it happening again? Thanks. PS: Don't know if I should have posted this in How it Works .........

Where is Ethel when I need her?
Try looking on this forum, the Topfield one is near the bottom, see if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks for that, Pug.

I have looked but can't see any reference to my particular problem. Good site though.
Try powering it off and leaving it off for a few minutes and then powering it on again.

Works for most hard drive based things.

Thanks for your reply Cockney, but I don't understand how that would prevent the problem from happening again.

I lost all the recordings I had ever made - they just vanished. I wonder why this happened, and if I could prevent it happening again.
