Ask your flatmate silly billy.
Hmmmmmm.......

Yes, I'm sure it can be done, with much the same ease as you can tell your computer to turn the power off after a scan.

cheers for all the useful information.... dont worry tho, ive found out wot he's done... the classic print screen and set as desktop, i think he's just warming up!!
Is there any way you could stop him from tinkering with your computer?

It would annoy me if somebody did that to mine - I'd be telling them in no uncertain terms, I didn't find it funny.
How did you manage to work it out asto? Glad you sorted it, anyway.

nah, its all in good taste and humour... harmless uni bant! ive just put some salmon in his bin, we'll see who has the last laf!

oh, i was just scouting through the internet for computer pranks and i saw that one... and so i checked and sure enuf!!
That's different then, if you just do it to each other to wind each other up.

On a similar note, I once had a boyfriend whose ex-girlfriend stitched some prawns into the hem of his curtains. He didn't realise for quite some time. Yukk!
Foprget the salmon - stick a herring under the jacket of the water tank in the airing supboard, or under a cushion on the settee.

cheers guys im enjoying the suggestion.. the stitching the prawns sounds the best.. herring in the airing cupboard mite effect the whole flat.!!
Couldn't you use a password? That may help.
You're observant figure! Btw hun - cheers for your SUPER message - xxxxx

Oh - and asto - don't worry - if you stitch prawns into the curtain hems (especially if there's a radiator near) - that'll ALSO have the whole flat smelling like market!!!!
Question Author
true... but the airing cupboard is next to my room!! at least the worse wud be contained to his room!!!

anyways cheers for all the suggestions!
Oh dear! LOL - and i meant *fish market there. I typed it out...but it never came up. Has your mate been round MY computer as well????!!!
it's quite easy to resolve ... grasp the tool firmly by the throat .... ask once ... if no reply increase pressure slightly ... repeat.

assure him it's only a prank ... and that you'll only switch his lights off for a while .... then you'll try booting him

if that doesn't work ... you could always use your floppy while he's down

i think the phrase is.... "ya what?!"
just putting a pic of your desktop as the background is fairly tame.

if your computer video drivers have the option to rotate the display then flipping the desktop pic by 180 and placing it as the backdrop then rotate the display through 180 as well really confuses people.

playing about with Autocomplete on word is always a good one to wind people up too (set it so it changes their name to something else every time it's typed)

Shutdown everytime you startup is easy to solve, just boot into safe mode and clear whatever has been put in the startup folder (there are other ways to do the shutdown trick, but thats the normal one)

oh and a 15minute startup/shutdown sound is pretty annoying as well
*** in his mouth when he's asleep. Classic Prank.
