why is there no "videos" section on my itunes?

I have just got an ipod touch, I have ripped a dvd through external software (not itunes) and am trying but failing to input it onto my new pod. please help!!

Read this thread, you don't need to register on the forums. It'll get you set up and ready to go

Edit -> preferences. Add the Movies section (tick the box).

You'll need to go into that section on the left pane, then drag your ripped file in.

What are you using? iPods like mp4 files with certain flags. Handbrake works well.

yeh thanks guys. yeh i already used handbrake, my only problem was that I couldn't find the sub-title in itunes "videos" as I saw an online tutorial with it in, but "movies" and "TV shows" have replaced this in the later verisons of itunes i guess. thanks again. I now have vids on my ipod!
