It's been raining here since the weekend, and since then I have have little or no mobile signal, and it's the same for my husband who is on a different network. Could the rain be the problem?

any change in weather and atmospheric conditions can effect radio waves in many different ways, sometimes weakening signals, sometimes making them stronger and sometime bouncing signals half way round the world.

In this instance though I would have thought it is more likely to be a problem with your local cell transmitter.

If you have a spare 2-3hours free you could try calling your mobile provider and asking if there are any known local problems
I was on the phone last night during the thunder and lightening and it kept cutting out which it doesn't normally do.
