Background sound and web pages
10 Answers
Previously I've made web pages with background music but now my usual method doesn't work any more. My PC was recently 'cleaned up' and programs re-installed as it had become very slow. I have XP and Windows Media Player and create web pages using MS Publisher. There's no problem making the web pages but sound no longer works with them. MIDI items in my file have different icons from previously and I wonder if this has something to do with it. Icons used to be a multi-coloured circle (like Media Player) but now they have what looks like a piece of mini film strip with a music note alongside. Any ideas about this would be much appreciated.

an audi driver ...??
sterling moss on his day off?

think of it as a bonus ... the only thing worse than accessing a website and finding it plays a tune .... is finding that here isn't an off button ... and that the tune goes on ... and on... and on ... and on ...and on... and on ... and on...and on... and on ... and on ...
and if you are on a quota connection it just eats into your download limit.
most browsers will do their best to stop automacically being fed "extra" content and popups ... as well as killing "java beans"

ok .... that's a good cause - if people expect music ... they should get it.
when you say it doesn't work ... have you tried a different browser? a recent update probably means that microsoft agrees with me and have disabled the option in one of their latest updates .
this is a portable version of firefox

so it shouldn't add stuff to your system uninvited
