whenever I get an attachment with an email which is a clip to watch, everytime I click on it, it starts to open up the media player but then the whole thing freezes up. The only way I can get out of it is by restarting the computer - where/whats going wrong, how can I solve this? Any help appreciated & thanks in advance

what version of media player is it, if it's not the latest (version 11) probably the easiest fix is to download and install the latest version.

Hiya chuck - don't know if you read my answer to you on a previous thread:
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Que stion575946.html

I'm not sure what version it is, I'll have to ask mr jd (dare not click on it for fear off freezing again!)

which one is the latest version - might download it.

Thanks for your advice x
oh I do apologise for for the implied sex change :) I just assumed that with the username jack daniels you'd be male. and also I guess just because the drummer from Showaddywaddy's son lived in essex doesn't mean the drummer did.

The latest version is 11, you can find out what version it is by running media player and if it doesn't crash selecting about media player on the help menu. you are unlikely to have 11 as it's a fairly new release.

Does it still freeze if you load media player on it's own without opening any files then? and if so can you "kill" it by pressing ctrl-alt-delete and selecting task manager then ending the program rather then resetting the computer

You can download version11 from the below link.

Thanks chuck but versions 10 & 11 won't work on windows2000. Currently using version 9 that keeps seizing.
