Epson R300 Printer
4 Answers
My Epson printer R300 will not load paper straight but off to the right hand side . I have looked inside when the paper is loading and it looks like the second roller on the left isnt as free as the others and the paper gets caught. The ink also smudges on the paper. When the paper comes through in the end there is a hard line pressed in the paper as it has gone through the roller. Cannot see any thing under the roller. Has anyone any idea what it can be.? many thanks

The problem is probably slipping and not sticking
the best thing for cleaning the rubber wheels of the layer of paper that is almost certainly causing your problem (or challenge!) is (in my opinion anyhow) soapy water.
and we know that water and electrickery don't mix ... and soapy water will corrode the copper tracking ... so you really must be careful here.
literally a couple of drops (no more) of natural soap (the stuff recommended for woolens) in a couple of litres of hot water.
take a clean cotton rag (ex shirt is best) and carefully moisten the rollers....
it will take a few goes (allow 10 seconds (ish) for the water to soak in --- and repeat... don't get impatient ....
after about 10 goes .. you should find that you are starting to penetrate down through the layers of paper dust concrete
eventually you'll be down to rubber.
do them all ... rub again with clean water - allow to dry
and see how it does.

Many thanks for your answer. I have just had a look at it and where the paper goes through the roller and bottom of the spindle, or what ever it is called, all away along it is grey but the bit it gets stuck is silver. So it looks like the piece has worn or broken away. That is why the paper sticks. So know not sure what to do.
