I have just started to get these error messages on booting up (Vista is the OS):-
C:\Program~1\Mywebs~1\bar\2.bin\M3PlugIn.dll
is missing
doh !!!!! I am guessing that this is a library file that some daftie program called Mywebs is needing that I have managed to remove via troll/spy/adware etc....
I don't have too much patience at the moment with Vista so I would appreciate some techie help please (and thenI will reward you all with a decent pint of beer - or three !) Thanks xx
Many thanks Mac... trouble is, that didn't clear it !
I downloaded the software, ran the quick fix... no good.. so I then ran the full screening service... when I now boot up I still get the same error message doh ! It is obviously a naughty bit of kit.... lol
It's the Run key that needs to go. The file is gone but the key is still there that's why you are getting the error message.
Go to Start>Run and in the box type
regedit
In the left pane of the new window click on the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand it.
Expand SOFTWARE, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion, then Run.
Now scroll down and look for keys named
MYWebSearch
and delete them.
You may be safer highlighting them and backing them up first.
I followed all the steps and things were going great until I opened the run program. Instead of finding MyWebSearch I found a folder OptionalComponents. Upon opening that I was shown three more files IMAIL, MAPI and MSFS. I am not familiar enough in this area of the files to start messing around in these. If you could point me in the correct direction again I would be very thankful. I may even contribute a pint of beer myself.
