They are now so cheap to buy against the other types do they have any drawbacks. One I saw advertised was only 130 and it had a 2 Gb SD card and was in high definition also.

A 2Gb SD card gives an hour recording in HD. I've just bought a 4Gb card off Amazon for 16 and that gives me 4 hrs recording time. Be aware though that if you do buy an SD card it has to be an SDHC card as I found when touring HMS Victory only to find the extra 2Gb cards I'd bought didn't work in the camera. Aiptek is a great put in your pocket Camcorder for everyday use. Hope this helps.
Thanks, yes it is an Aiptek. There are different models available, 200, 300, and 500. The 300 is almost the same price as the 200 but it has the advantage of 1080 lines instead of the 720 for the 200. Amazon are doing an offer of a 4Gb card for only about 4. Seems good value but they add it on the delivery charge. I think it has digital zoom as well as acting as a camera. I'm not sure what difference in buying a SDHC gives you.
Ordinary SD cards just won't work! I made the mistake of buying a couple of 2Gb SD cards from Amazon but they are not recognised by the camcorder, luckily I can still use them in my digital stills camera. They have to be SDHC. The 4Gb SDHC card I bought for 16 did also come with a Micromate Card reader which is why it was a little more expensive. I'm sure you can get 4Gb SDHC cards cheaper but standard SD cards just won't work in the Aiptek. SDHC cards are sometimes called SD Extreme which is what the Aiptek comes bundled with.
